Hello Brother and Sisters,

 

I hope you are all doing well and had a fulfilling Thanksgiving with loved ones. This month, we will focus on the Conductor's Opening and Closing Ceremony Duties.

 

Each auxiliary conductor should check in with their President to discuss which version of the meeting they will be leading. There are three to choose from in the Bylaws and Ritual Book.

 

Opening Ceremony for all versions

1.       Check Dues Cards when asked by the President.

2.      Roll Call Response – Present/Absent

3.      Present self at Alter with Chaplain and Patriotic Instructor when instructed by President.

 

Closing Ceremony for all Versions

1.       Present self at Alter with Chaplain when instructed by President.

 

 

1.      Traditional Meeting with Floorwork Version (2024 pgs. 9-22)

a.      This version of the meeting requires preplanning, and prior practice is highly suggested.

b.      The conductor will set up the floor with flags and prepare the flag barriers for their roles.

c.      Opening Ceremony including flag presentation

d.     Escort special guests to the altar.

e.      Escort new members for Obligation.

f.       Take any receipts read by the secretary to trustees to review and sign.

g.      Take any receipts to the Treasurer after Trustee Review, Approval, and member vote if not prior vote or standing rule.

h.     Special Ceremonies as needed.

 

2.     Traditional Meeting without floorwork (2024 pgs. 23-31)

a.      Assist the President as needed.

b.      Set up the room.

c.      Opening Ceremony

d.     Escort special guests to the altar.

e.      Escort new members for Obligation.

f.       Take any receipts read by the secretary to trustees to review and sign.

g.      Take any receipts to the Treasurer after Trustee Review, Approval, and member vote if not prior vote or standing rule.

h.     Special Ceremonies as needed.

 

3.      Contemporary Meeting Version (2024 pgs. 32-40)

a.      Assist President as needed.

b.      Set up the room.

c.      Opening Ceremony

d.     Escort special guests to the altar.

e.      Escort new members for Obligation.

f.       Take any receipts read by the secretary to trustees to review and sign.

g.      Take any receipts to the Treasurer after Trustee Review, Approval, and member vote if not prior vote or standing rule.

h.     Special Ceremonies as needed.

 

4.    Roundtable Meeting Version. (2024 pg. 41)

a.      Assist President as needed.

b.      Check dues cards.

c.      Roll Call

 

Making our members comfortable will allow for a terrific and productive meeting.
