Founded in 1914, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Auxiliary was established to honor and support the veterans of our country and their communities. As one of the nation’s oldest veterans' service organizations, we are composed of relatives of those who have served in foreign conflicts.
With nearly 470,000 members spread across more than 3,500 Auxiliaries nationwide, as well as three overseas Auxiliaries, we dedicate millions of volunteer hours and raise significant funds for charitable projects that support veterans, military personnel, and their families.
Through our National Programs, we collaborate with the VFW to advocate for or against legislation affecting veterans and their families, contribute nearly a million volunteer hours to the VA medical system, engage thousands of students in patriotic programs, and award hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships to our nation's youth. The purpose of this Corporation is to foster fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational values. We aim to:
