Good day auxiliary members,
Well, another month has come and gone and here we are again.
I hope all of you are well and enjoying the fall weather.
There have been many activities going on at the VFW National Home.
School has started. The kids went to Fun Tyme Adventure Park for mini golf, arcade games and various other activities before the weather started getting bad. The pictures on their Facebook page looked like they were having a fun time.
The VFW National Home has a nice Facebook page that you can visit and see what has been going on with activities and things that are planned in the future.
The kids that are in 4H had fun showing their animals at the fair this summer. Three kids showed and sold hogs, six showed and sold rabbits. The kids with rabbits brought home two-fourth place ribbons, three third place ribbons, and one first place. The child that received the first-place ribbon is nine years old. I am so glad that they brought back the 4H program a few years age.
If it is possible for your Auxiliary and Post to have a fundraiser for the VFW National Home Oregon Cottage, it would be greatly appreciated. I was talking to Sonya, and they had to replace the air conditioning unit at the Oregon Cottage for $6,000.00. I would be a great to help replenish that fund for the miniatous that comes up in the future.
I hope everyone has a great month and a very safe Halloween. Thank you all for what you do for our Veterans and their families. Thank you for the reports that you have been sending to me. Keep them coming.
