Legislative Priorities
The VFW is a powerful voice for veterans in Washington, D.C., working every day to protect the benefits and services earned through military service. Our National Legislative Service closely monitors legislation affecting veterans, service members, and their families, keeping VFW members informed about important issues while advocating directly with Congress and the administration.
By testifying before congressional committees, meeting with lawmakers, and championing legislation that supports the military community, the VFW has played a leading role in shaping veterans' policy for more than a century. Every legislative effort is guided by the VFW's Priority Goals and a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of those who have served.
Supported by more than 1.4 million VFW and Auxiliary members, our collective voice makes a meaningful impact on Capitol Hill. Recent successes include helping secure expanded education benefits through the Forever GI Bill and improving veterans' access to timely, quality health care through the VA MISSION Act.
Together, we continue to fight for those who have fought for our nation.
